Due to the Covid-19 situation and the very good likelihood that the ability to gather in large crowds will still be limited by race day, the Bear Cupboard Run will be contested as a virtual race. Click on the button above and it will give you details on how to complete your Bear Cupboard Run.

Virtual Run – 5K, Half Marathon, and Cubbie Kids Run
Well, it looks like we are going to have to improvise for this year’s version of the Bear Cupboard Run. Due to the current situation with stay-at-home orders and the need to social distance, we have decided to run the Bear Cupboard Run as a virtual race. For those of you who may not know what a virtual race is, it’s very simple. On the day of the race, you can choose your favorite social distancing place that also serves as your favorite running place and record a time for either the 5K or Half Marathon races. You then go to the Performance Timing website, find your name and enter your time. If you use something like Strava or Garmin Connect, you can upload the run file so others can see where you ran and further verifies your results.
This year, more then ever, your participation in the event is even more critical. The Lakeland Food Pantry serves many families in need throughout the year. However, given that many families are struggling with finances due to layoffs or reduced work hours, the need for services like the Lakeland Food Pantry offers are greater then ever. Your support of the Bear Cupboard Run is an important fund raiser for the Pantry and by going out and running that day, you will be making a positive contribution to a very critical and important organization.
Registration is still being set-up and will be reopened soon with further instructions. We’ll send an email to those that have participated in the past when everything is ready.
