12th Annual Bear Cupboard Run
June 26, 2021
5K, Half Marathon, and Cubbie Kids Run
In-person and Virtual options
The Bear Cupboard Run is going to be back this year with it’s usual line-up of races that have been popular for so many. We will have some changes in store that will be determined as we go forward to make sure we provide a safe event for everyone and we will offer both in-person runs and virtual options. We also intend to use the Bearskin Trail, but due to current Wisconsin DNR limitations on crowd size, we may not be able to use that. If that is still the case in late June, we will have an alternate location and course nearby we will use.
Some of our other adjustments we are considering include eliminating the mass start in favor or a rolling start to lessen big crowds, adjustments to water stops and post race refreshments and how those are handed out, outdoor bib pickup and late registration to name just a few changes we look to incorporate. To eliminate the bus trip, the half-marathon will be more of a loop or out-and-back course. Some may actually prefer that as it does cut down on some of the hassle of getting to the start line 13 miles south of town.
At this point, registration is not open but we hope to have it all up and running by mid-April. We will utilize the RunSignUp site that we have in the past and will put a link here when it is ready, But for now, mark your calendar for June 26 to join in on the fun and at the same time, support the Lakeland Food Pantry. We are also updating the event pages, so please be patient as we update all those pages with the final details.
